The Sealy Ease adjustable base and the Glideaway Prelude are two bases that you could easily put side by side. When shopping for a big purchase, it can be very hard to decide between all the different options. We are going to try and make that easy for you with today’s comparison of these two bases.
The Sealy Ease adjustable base is going to give you everything you need at an average price point for the category. The features are a bit slim, but the ones that are included, you will really benefit from. The first obvious feature is the wireless remote. From the remote you have access to the ergonomic positions, as well as a ‘One-Touch Flat’ button that will return the bed to the standard position. There is an LED light on the remote, but it doesn’t seem like it will make a huge difference in a very dark room. The Ease fits in many standard be frames, has 9” metal legs and works with most mattresses.
The Glideaway Prelude has some decent features too, although they seem quite different from the Ease. The remote on the Prelude is wired. The options are the similar but the Prelude has one more button and doesn’t include an LED light. The weight limit on the Prelude is 600lbs for a queen. 50lbs less than what the Ease offers. German engineered frame and motor are featured on the Prelude and focus on keeping the bed as quiet as possible when it is in motion, while also claiming energy efficiency.
Both adjustable bases feature a retainer bar in the same location and style. The warranty looks to be 5 years longer on the Glideaway Prelude. A 20-Year Limited Warranty is included and features one year of full coverage on parts and labor. From year 2 to 20 the coverage is prorated for non-electrical parts only. The Sealy Ease has a 15-year prorated warranty that covers parts and labor associated with servicing the adjustable base for the first year, parts are covered for up to 5 years from the date of purchase, and the remainder of the warranty covers the frame against manufacturers defects.
At the end of the day the Glideaway is $150 more for a slightly longer warranty, wired remote with more buttons and a lower weight limit. If these factors are a concern for you, then the Sealy Ease adjustable base is going to be the winner for you.
